Frequently asked questions
Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor?
No referral is required.
You can book directly with our team at a time that suits you.
If your GP has put you on a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) care plan, bring the referral with you. Medicare may cover part of the cost if your GP places you on a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) care plan.
What happens at my first appointment?
Your first visit is focused on understanding how your body is functioning. We’ll take a detailed history and perform a comprehensive assessment, which may include movement testing, postural analysis and digital X-rays if clinically indicated. This allows us to build a clear picture before making any recommendations. Your second visit is your report of findings, where we walk you through your results and outline a personalised care plan based on your assessment. Allow about 30 minutes for your first visit.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothing you can move in — activewear is ideal. You will not need to undress; we work around normal clothing.
Does an adjustment hurt?
Generally no. Most people describe it as a release of pressure. You may hear a popping sound — that is gas releasing from the joint, not bones cracking. Some mild soreness for a day afterwards is normal, particularly after your first few visits.
How many visits will I need?
It depends on the problem, how long it has been there, and what you need to get back to. We give you an honest estimate after the initial assessment and review it as you progress. We do not sell fixed treatment packages.
Is chiropractic safe during pregnancy?
Yes. We use techniques and equipment specifically designed for pregnancy, including side-lying positioning and pregnancy pillows, so you never need to lie face-down. Care is adjusted for each trimester.
Is it safe for babies and children?
Yes. Paediatric technique uses very light pressure — for an infant, roughly what you would use to comfortably test a ripe tomato. There is no twisting or cracking. We commonly see babies for head-turning preference, flat spots, feeding on one side and unsettledness.
Do you accept health funds?
Yes — we accept on-the-spot rebates from all major health funds. Bring your card and we will process the claim at the desk.
